I've been inspired lately to create some fan art based around the film's universe.
Here's a little bio I came up with, I'm not much of a writer but her's a go at it.

Jinx Renegade, Was a Mark I Jaeger piloted by, Ramon Berchwood and Samuel Pulaski. Never truly meant for long term field use Jinx Renegade was the bridge from the Mark I series to II, (see 1.5 ARCH PROJECT memo) Featuring an experimental new power plant that dominates the jaegers body and high powered energy weapon system. It is also noted as the first Jaeger to carry some form of radiation shielding. Jinx Renegade first engagement was by accident during field testing and a joint military exercise between the US and Mexican military in Baja California. Jinx was forced into combat when unexpectedly a category 1 Kaiju (Codename Mongoose) attacked the nearby city of Ensenada.
Mongoose quickly tore threw the garrison force defending the city. Seeing no choice the PPDC observer Dr. Nipa Sharma gave authorization for Jinx to engage Mongoose until Horizon Brave could be dispatched from the Los Angeles Shatterdome Berchwood and Pulaski where not expected to survive the conflict but hopefully would buy enough time for large scale evacuation of the city to occur. Jinx and her pilots did more than survey but manged to kill the kaiju with a precision strike with from it's javelin weapons (Devil's Retribution) in under 15 minutes a new record at the time.
Given the impressive performance of this unlikely hero Jinx was permanently deployed to the LA Shatterdome. 6 months later Jinx and Horizion Brave where sent to defend Santiago District Panama from a catagory 2 Kaiju (Codename Gasbag) Jinx Renegade was destroyed in combat after
substantiating massive damage it's power plant had a full meltdown destroying the Jaeger and killing Gasbag in the process.
During Jinx's short career many many new technologies where proven effective that otherwise would have been scrapped by the PPDC found there way into the highly successful Mark II Jaegers.
